Meet Sam Burns. Originally hailing from Austin, TX, Sam moved to Colorado in early 2016 to get a fresh start on life and pursue a degree in classical guitar from the University of Northern Colorado.
“I’ve been writing since I was about ten years old. I have always felt a longing to write stories and was largely inspired by early Beatles recordings. My grandma was very encouraging at a young age and I remember sharing the piano bench with her as I learned the rudiments and the natural heartbeat of music.”
Sam draws influence from the likes of The Beatles, Harry Nilsson, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon. He can remember dressing up as John Lennon for career day back in 5th grade.
Sam moved to Nashville in the summer of 2019 to continue his education in music at Belmont University and to continue honing his craft s a songwriter/performer. In June 2019, he recorded an EP in Austin and hopes to release it by the end of the year, which will then be his 4th solo release since 2016.
“A memorable experience for me was having the opportunity to tour as a supporting act for Los Lonely Boys. I got to play some of the most elegant stages on the East Coast. This gave me a glimpse of what kind of opportunities may lay ahead as I continue to develop my sound and character as a passionate artist.”
